Frenzel Alcorn
Frenzel Alcorn, 76, of Boyers, formerly of the Barkeyville and Clintonville area, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday.
Frenzel was born Sept. 8, 1936, in Grove City, she was the daughter of Floyd R. Walter and Florence F. Surrena Walter.
Frenzel married Raymond “Bud” Alcorn on March 28, 1953; he passed away Aug. 27, 1986.
Frenzel graduated from Wesley High School, Wesley, Pa., and she had celebrated their 60th year reunion this year.
Frenzel had been the tax collector for Clintonville for a number of years, and had worked at the Kwik Fill in Barkeyville as the restaurant manager for nine years. She was known for excellent seamstress work that she did for the local area, from hemming wedding dresses to making drapes. She loved to sew.
Frenzel had a deep love for her family and enjoyed spending time with everyone. She was so proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and beamed when speaking of them. Her faith and love of God was evident in her life, her Bible study and devotion was a daily practice in her life. She loved her church, the West United Community Church in Boyers, and the people who attended with her. She attended the senior center in West Sunbury.
Frenzel was very much a people person, always visiting with friends and family. In her earlier years, she and her husband, Bud, went camping and fishing in Canada.
Surviving are her children, Roxanne Compton and her husband, Roy, of Kentucky, Dennis Alcorn and his wife, Lisa, of Wesley, Pa., Scott Alcorn and his wife, April, of Jamestown, Pa., Pat Hoffman and her husband, Mike, of Barkeyville and Jewel Craig and her husband, Dan, of Boyers. Her 14 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren also survive.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Phipps, June Matthews and Wilda Baker; her brother, Floyd E. Walter; and one granddaughter, Rachael Marie Hoffman.
ALCORN — The family of Frenzel Alcorn, who passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, will receive friends at the Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today. Funeral services will take place at the West United Community Church, 400 Unity Road, Harrisville, at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Boyd Smith officiating from the church.Interment will take place at Old Log Cemetery, Irwin Township, Venango County.Friends can e-mail condolences by visiting www.mckinleyfuneralhome.net
