Stolen calf found at livestock auction
UNION CITY — A Crawford County farmer, Clint Miller, is resting easy now that a calf stolen in April from his farm is back home. Police say the calf was first sold at the Mercer Livestock Auction. That buyer planned to sell it at the Meadville auction. Miller was able to identify it by twine tied around the cow's navel.
Police then followed a paper trail to 19-year-old Justin Eugene Cooper and 33-year-old David Arthur Sherman, who have been charged in the theft.
