Brown, Johnston score racing wins
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown drove Twin B Hello to victory in harness racing action Wednesday at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
The 6-year-old mare captured a $10,000 Starter Allowance Pace on a sloppy surface.
Elsewhere on the card, Evans City resident Shawn Johnston collected a win with A Kolo Dance.
Maher signs with Clarion football
CLARION — North Catholic graduate and Butler resident Nick Maher has transferred to Clarion University to continue his football career.
The wide receiver had 93 catches for 1,727 yards and 26 touchdowns at North Catholic. He walked on at West Virginia University and is one of 33 football recruits with Clarion this year. North Catholic was 26-4 during Maher’s time with the Trojans.
