Gertrude Frances (Schelinski) McCormick

Gertrude Frances (Schelinski) McCormick, 101, of Center Township, formerly of Richland Township, peacefully passed away Saturday at home with her family.

Born June 21, 1912, in Sharpsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances (Miller) Schelinski.

She was the wife of the late Paul A. McCormick, who passed away May 7, 1970.

Gertrude’s first job was as a sales clerk with D.L. Clark for 10 years. She also worked at Sears and the Northway Mall Children’s Store before retiring in 1970.

Mrs. McCormick was a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church in Richland Township.

She is survived by her daughters, Arleigh (Ron) Eddy of Parker and Polly (John) Hicks of Center Township; her eight grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; and her sister, Josephine Vulakovic of South Carolina.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Sharon and Stacy Bednarski; one granddaughter; and her siblings, Ethel Wbidel, Dorothy Woldring, Margaret Schelinski, Sylvester Schilling, Edward Schelinski and Charles Shilling.

McCormick — The family of Gertrude Frances (Schelinski) McCormick, who passed away Saturday, March 15, 2014, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at King Funeral Home, 2841 Woodland Circle, Allison Park.A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Richard Roman Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia.
