Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will host a tour of area homes that have adopted water conservation practices from 1 to 5 p.m. March 8. The event is for those age 16 and older. Space is limited. Registration is due by Friday followed by payment of $5 per person by March 5. Register online at www.apps.dcnr.state.pa.us/Calendar/list.asp or call 724-794-6011. A program on how sap taken from a maple tree becomes syrup will be held at 2 p.m. March 23. This annual program is free and registration is not necessary, but attendees should arrive on time to get a seat. The program begins with an indoor presentation followed by a guided, outdoor walk.

Wagman Winterfest, the 21st annual free winter star party sponsored by the Amateur Astronomers Association of Pittsburgh, starts with solar viewing at 4 p.m. March 8 at Nicholas E. Wagman Observatory in Deer Lakes Regional Park, near Russellton. Activities are held weather permitting. Donations are accepted. Call 724-224-2510.
