PITTSBURGH — Authorities say a paralyzed police officer was threatened by another man outside a courthouse after the trial at which two men were acquitted of the shooting that left him in a wheelchair.

Forty-three-year-old Irvin Glaze was charged Monday with simple assault, harassment and other charges for allegedly threatening Clairton police Officer James Kuzak earlier this month outside Allegheny County Courthouse.

Investigators say Glaze threatened to knock Kuzak out of his wheelchair following the acquittal of two men on attempted homicide charges in connection with an April 2011 home-invasion. One of the men was convicted of burglary and other charges in that case.

Officials say Glaze also caused a disturbance in a courtroom after threatening Kuzak.
