Glenny Oesterling, born August 15, 1957. Went home January 16, 2005

Dearest Glenny,

It seems like yesterday that I held my first baby in my arms. You were so soft and cuddly, you had such beautiful big eyes, you were so strong and you looked all around.

Forty seven years later I held you again, my head upon your pillow, my cheek against yours. You were so peaceful and warm. You knew Jesus was calling, son I’m taking you home, your suffering is over. Your nurse looked at your mechanical monitor and said he’s gone. I was broken hearted, but your loving family was there too.

When you were nine months old you had a problem standing.

You had a birth injury to the motor part of your body. After years of surgery you had a spinal fusion which confined you to a wheelchair.

You were a fighter and an earth angel. Everyone loved you.

You went to Sister Helen’s class at St. Paul’s and graduated from Butler High.

A lot of things you couldn’t do but what you could do you excelled at even before we got our handicapped van, your Dad would lift you in his truck and put your wheelchair in the back.

We got you involved in everything. You got along with young and old.

People still tell me they marveled at your strength and personality. Being in total care most of your life, you were a model patient.

It didn’t take long for us to know you were an earth angel.

You loved Jesus and your blessed mother.

I’m glad I had you five more years after Dad passed away.

There isn’t a day goes by that I don’t think of you.

Your loved and greatly missed.

It won’t be long, we’ll all be together.

Give Dad a big hug and kiss for us.

You had the best father in the world.

For us down here we know you are not gone, your only away.

Pray for us down here. Tell everyone to pray for us. Until we all meet again.
