Rock women get monkey off their back
SLIPPERY ROCK — Isabellah Middleton and Deleah Gibson combined for 35 points as the Slippery Rock University women’s hoops team beat arch-rival Indiana (Pa.) by a 52-48 score Wednesday night. It was the first time in 30 tries that The Rock came out on top against the Crimson Hawks (13-5, 8-5).
SRU (11-8, 6-7) held the visitors well below their 73.9 points per game average coming in. Butler graduate and redshirt sophomore Jordan Kauffman started for The Rock and totaled three points and two rebounds.

The Rock’s men’s crew fell short at home against the No. 1 Crimson Hawks in the second game of the hardwood doubleheader Wednesday night. Khalid Gates scored 18 points for SRU and Jonathan McFall another 16.
