Shirley Zarnick

Zarnick

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Shirley Ann Marie Zarnick, 85, of Butler was received in Heaven on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2023. She was greeted by her husband, Paul “Dave” Zarnick; her parents, Katherine and Vincent Lorenz; her son, Dr. Philip D. Zarnick; and her daughter, René N. Zarnick.

Shirley was born Aug. 26, 1937, in Monaca. She enjoyed a rich family life with her siblings, Vincent, Joanne, Phyllis and Bo, who preceded her in death.

A kindhearted and empathy-filled matriarch to a large family, Shirley opened her doors to all in need. She found solace in easing the woes of family and friends with love and compassion. Shirley’s philosophy of life included putting her loved ones above all else. She would go to any length to see her friends and family bonding in togetherness.

In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, crafting, video games, gardening, sunbathing, bowling, spending time with her pets, and sharing in laughter with friends and family.

Surviving are her two daughters, Paula Snodgrass and Joni (Susan) Zarnick; six grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Snodgrass, Kathryn (Kenny) Kisow, Richelle (Mark) Baldwin, Alexandria Bowser, Zane (Kristan) Eury and Alex Weil; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
