John M. “Woody” Kennedy
John M. “Woody” Kennedy, 66, of West Sunbury passed away at 1:15 a.m. Tuesday at his home following an extended illness.
Woody was born Sept. 22, 1949, in Sewickley, Pa. He was the son of the late John P. “Bud” Kennedy and the late Emma M. Cohn Kennedy.
Woody was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he worked on the F4 Phantom.
He was a truck driver for NEMF Trucking until his retirement.
Woody loved drag racing and car cruises, where he would show his 1971 Duster, the Oldies and vacationing in Vegas.
Woody is survived by his wife, Karen McElhaney Kennedy, who he married Aug. 22, 1992; two sisters, Marie Kennedy (Don Riddle) of Moon Township and Carole (John) Graham of Robinson Township; one daughter, Deanna (Mark) McArdle of McDonald; and two grandchildren, Shane Kennedy and Kaidence McArdle.
Also surviving are one aunt, one uncle, four nieces, one nephew and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
KENNEDY — Graveside military services for John M. “Woody” Kennedy, who passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016, will be at noon April 30 at the West Sunbury Union Cemetery, Halston Road, West Sunbury.
