Sally Kim Arner

Sally Kim Arner, 61, of Danville, Calif., died Tuesday at home from ovarian cancer.

Sally was born in Butler and attended Butler High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio.

Sally worked for several years as a registered nurse in Ohio and Washington, D.C., before moving into the information technology side of the health care industry. Sally held positions at Johnson & Johnson and General Electric before joining Kaiser Permanente’s technology department at its headquarters in Oakland, Calif., where she rose to the level of executive director. She also is an alumna of the Contra Costa County leadership program.

Though she was a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Sally adopted the Oakland Raiders as her home team when she moved to northern California in 1995. Among her other favorites: a good glass of wine with friends, global travel, elephants and Halloween.

She is predeceased by her mother, Jacqueline Graham; and her brother, Anthony G. Graham.

Survivors include her father, Robert Graham of Lakeland, Fla.; her brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Faith Arner of New York, N.Y.; her adopted cat, Annie; and her beloved niece and nephew, Caitlin and Geoffrey Arner.

Her family expresses a heartfelt thank you to the many kind friends who supported Sally throughout her life and illness. A more devoted and delightful bunch of people is hard to find.

ARNER — There will be no services for Sally Kim Arner, who died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund Alliance, Hope Hospice of Dublin, Calif., or a charity of your choice.
