The state Department of Revenue is reminding residents that state tax returns can be filed online through the free option known as myPATH.

Tax payments also can be made on the user-friendly program, according to a department news release.

More information on myPATH is available at mypath.pa.gov.

The online filing deadline for state taxes is Tuesday, April 18.

The online option to file or pay state taxes online is in keeping with Gov. Josh Shapiro’s goal to keep costs minimal for Pennsylvanians and their families, the release said.
