Lola R. Hogan

Lola R. Hogan, 77, of the Boggsville area in South Buffalo Township passed away peacefully Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Lola was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Freeport. She was the daughter of the late Margaret R. (George) and Paul A. Ruffner. Lola was the widow of William “Bill” J. Hogan, who died in 2010.

Lola worked for a number of years as an operator at the old Freeport Telephone Co. before starting her family. Lola was an avid bird watcher, enjoyed gardening and loved spending time with her family.

Lola is survived by her daughter, Lynanne Hogan of South Buffalo Township; two sons, David A. Hogan of South Buffalo Township and Joseph A. Hogan and Melissa Kondrich-Hogan of South Buffalo Township.

She also is survived by her granddaughter, Angeline Jo Palmer of South Buffalo Township; her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and James Rowley of South Buffalo Township; and her brother and sister-in-law, Andrew “Tink” and Nancy Ruffner of Freeport.

Lola is preceded in death by her sister, Helen Baldwin; and two infant brothers.

HOGAN — Family and friends of Lola R. Hogan, who died Thursday, May 4, 2017, will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Redmond Funeral Home, 524 High St., Freeport.

A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jocelyn Johnston of Trinity Lutheran Church, officiating.
