Carol Ann Young Hiles
Carol Ann Young Hiles, 79, of Queenstown Road, Karns City, passed away peacefully at 12:15 a.m. Saturday at her home surrounded by her loving family following a two-year battle with cancer.
Carol was born Dec. 15, 1937, in North Washington to the late Richard G. and Bertha E. Young.
Carol is survived by her husband, James M. Hiles Jr., whom she married Jan. 21, 1956.
A homemaker, Carol enjoyed reading, flowers, old movies, sitting by the outside fire, road trips to Florida and most especially the company of her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Steve Hiles and his wife, Kathy, of Chicora, Cynthia Hillwig and her husband, Rodger, of Karns City, Kathy Rumbaugh and her husband, Dave, of Hilliards, Jeffrey Hiles and his wife, Wanda, of Karns City and Marcia Roessing and her husband, J.T., of Parker. Carol was very proud of her 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Carol also leaves behind two sisters, Betty Zimmel and Donna Coachman; and two brothers, Richard F. and Thomas G. Young.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Carol Hiles, who died Nov. 27, 1958.
The family wishes to thank the Good Samaritan Hospice of Cabot, especially Lisa, Amy, Katelyn, Pam, Amber, Shelly, Amanda, and Med Fast drivers, for their assistance and loving care of Carol and the family during her final months.
HILES — A private visitation and a funeral service for Carol Ann Young Hiles, who died Saturday, June 3, 2017, was conducted Sunday afternoon at the Hile Funeral Home of Karns City, officiated by the Rev. Richard McCanna, a United Methodist pastor. Interment was at the Bear Creek Cemetery, Petrolia.
