Judith L. Dudas
Judith L. Dudas, 67, of West Slippery Rock Road, Chicora, went home to heaven while in the company of her loving husband at their home Thursday afternoon.
Judith was born in Pittsburgh on June 19, 1949. She was the daughter of Paul “Jess” and Doris Mae Cimrick Powers. She graduated from Edgewood High School and from the Saint Margaret School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Dudas was a registered nurse and had been employed by the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Butler for more than 30 years. She was a longtime member of Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church in Chicora, the Chicora Moose Lodge, the American Legion Post in Clarion, the Pitt Panther Club and the Ruffed Grouse Society. Mrs. Dudas enjoyed entertaining and helping family and friends. She loved country living, fishing and watching and photographing wildlife. She was an avid Pitt football fan, and she was a beloved member of the Feisty Five-5RNS, whom she worked with at the VA.
Judith is survived by her husband, Stephen, of 44 years; a brother, Paul Powers and his wife, Barbara; a sister-in-law, Joanne Lazzaro and her husband, Gregory; a niece, Rose Fraley and her husband, Craig; a nephew, Frank Lazzaro and his wife, Celeste; nieces, Molly and Maggie Powers; a great-niece and nephew, Alyssa and Gregory Lazzaro and her dog and devoted companion, Jax.
DUDAS — Friends of Judith L. Dudas, who passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hile Funeral Home of Chicora, 339 Chicora-Fenelton Road, Chicora.
A parish prayer service will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday from Mater Dolorosa Roman Catholic Church, 409 N. Main St., Chicora, with the Rev. Rick Thompson, church pastor, officiating.
