Evelyn Barron

Evelyn Suzanne Shidemantle Pataski Barron passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.

A proud generation Pennsylvanian from a pioneer family of Western Pennsylvania, she was born on Jan. 18, 1938, in Lawrence County. She was the daughter of the late Irvin and Elizabeth Turner Shidemantle and raised in Butler County.

Suzanne went to grade school in Portersville, and graduated from Slippery Rock High School.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to so many.

Suzanne attended business school in Pittsburgh, and worked for First Federal Savings and Loan in New Castle, and while there, she attended Westminster and Grove City colleges, along with attending the Savings and Loan Institute through employment with First Federal Savings and Loan Association. Suzanne later worked for Friendship Federal and the Butler County commissioners office while living in Butler and raising her family. She loved being surrounded by her family and friends.

Suzanne later moved to Camp Hill and worked for Sun Motor Cars, a Mercedes-Benz dealership, as a customer service representative, and had also worked for International Auto Shows in Harrisburg. From there, she moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland and worked at Northrop Security Defense Systems in Annapolis, Md. She also attended Anne Arundel College in Annapolis, and studied and sold real estate in that area. Later, Suzanne moved and lived in the St. Petersburg, Fla., area for many years retiring from JC Penney Company selling furniture.

She had many wonderful friends and greatly enjoyed attending First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg.

Suzanne is survived by her son, James Pataski of Renfrew, and daughter, Beth Ann Pataski-Fay (Merrill Fay) of Gilford, N.H.; her granddaughters, Gwendolyn Crafts (Scott Graff) of Arlington, Va., and Cora Crafts (David Yagy) of Gloucester, Mass.; her grandsons, Michael Pataski of Rapid City, S.D., and Nicholas Pataski of Sarasota, Fla.; her brothers, James (Donna) Shidemantle of Portersville, Ronald (Linda) Shidemantle of New Sewickley Township and Robert (Judy) Shidemantle of Harrisville; plus many nieces and nephews and their families, who all live in and around Western Pennsylvania.

Suzanne was preceded in death by her son, Robert (Bobby) Pataski, and her grandson, Mischa Pataski-Fay, who both passed tragically when they were 17. They were both very precious to her, as well as her parents, grandparents, and many loved relatives and special friends, who passed on before her.
