Paul J. Lichanec

Paul J. Lichanec, 84, of Clearfield Road, Fenelton, died early Friday morning at Concordia Lutheran Ministries in Cabot.

Paul was born in Clearfield Township April 24, 1930. He was the son of Paul and Dorothy Bruner Lichanec.

He was a 1948 graduate of Butler High School. Paul was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Coylesville.

Mr. Lichanec retired from Penn Dixie Cement Corp. in 1993.

Paul was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates and NBA player LeBron James. He enjoyed spending time outside in his yard with his very loyal yellow lab, Smokey.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol J. Keasey Lichanec, who he married Sept. 10, 1955, at St. John's Church in Coylesville. Mrs. Lichanec died July 6, 2011.

He is survived by two daughters, Paula J. Johnson and her husband, Chuck, of Fenelton and Pamela S. Kiser and her husband, Tim, of Karns City; three grandchildren, Chrichele Griffiths and Derek Griffiths of Karns City, and Dalton Johnson of Fenelton; five stepgrandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

LICHANEC — A private visitation and blessing service for Paul J. Lichanec, who died Friday, Jan. 2, 2015, will be at Hile Funeral Home of Chicora.
