SAXONBURG — The Saxonburg Women's Club will open its new year with a tureen dinner and installation of officers and new members.

Social hour will begin at 5:30 p.m. Monday in the basement of Saxonburg Memorial Church, Main Street, with dinner at 6 p.m. After a brief meeting, installation of officers and new members will follow.

Members are asked to take a covered dish to share and a wrapped white elephant gift item. Drinks and tableware will be provided.

The Butler Public Library will host a 50-minute puppet show at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the library on North McKean Street. The program is free and open to the public. PORTERSVILLE — Moraine State Park will operate its turn of the century oil well and pumping engine from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Park staff and volunteers will operate the engine and answer questions.The central powerhouse site is beyond the region 2 office building on Park Road, Old 422, off of route 528.

The Keystone Squares will hold free fun nights to teach square dancing from 7 to 8 p.m. on Monday and Sept. 15 at St. Michael's hall, 432 Center Ave. Classes will be held following the fun nights from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays starting Sept. 22.Participants must take a partner. PROSPECT — Forms for the 2008-09 Portersville-Prospect Rotary Club student of the month are available at the Slippery Rock High School guidance office or from Judy Raisley at 724-865-2535.Any senior who resides in Muddycreek Township, Portersville, Franklin Township or Prospect is eligible to be a student of the month and compete for a scholarship in the spring.Forms must be returned to the guidance office or Judy Raisley at P.O. HARMONY — The Harmony Museum will hold a presentation by Violet Covert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Stewart Hall, Main and Mercer streets.Covert will interpret the 1800 journal of Sally Hastings describing her journey from Lancaster to settle in Washington County.

SAXONBURG — Saxonburg Library will hold its fall book sale in conjunction with the Saxonburg Arts Festival. The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday in the library meeting room.For more information, call 724-352-4810.
