Clyde Richardson, Jr.
Clyde Richardson, Jr., 87, of Connoquenessing Township went to join his loving wife Tuesday while under the care of VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Nixon, he was the son of the late Clyde Richardson and Carrie Steinmetz Richardson.
Clyde had been a foreman at AK Steel (Armco Steel) in Butler, retiring in 1988.
Clyde served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman in Washington, D.C., then at Ft. Benning, Ga., helping to reactivate the 4th Division.
He was a member of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler. He belonged to Meridian Area Retired Citizens (MARC) and was a past president of Keystone Squares. He loved camping, swimming, golfing and traveling.
Clyde is survived by his two daughters, Beverly Rikal and her husband Mark of Nashville, Tenn., and Gwen Pesci and her husband Rick of Butler; and four grandchildren, Jarrad Rikal and his wife Rosemary of Lebanon, Tenn., Neal Rikal and his wife Melissa of Brentwood Tenn., Megan Pesci Brown and her husband Shaun and their daughter Brooke of Slippery Rock, and Chad Pesci and his wife Janell of Raleigh, N.C.
In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Bachman Richardson, who he married Oct. 23, 1951, and who passed away Feb. 8, 2010; and by an infant daughter, Barbara.
