Richard Louis Drescher, 68, of Whitney, Texas, passed away Aug. 27 at Town Hall Estates, Whitney, Texas.

Richard was born April 23, 1947, in Ellwood City to Louis Cyril and Anna Mary (Kinman) Drescher.

He graduated from Seneca Valley High School in 1965. On Nov. 24, 1978, he married Jean Thompson.

Richard was a retired structural engineer and project manager, and he worked in nuclear plants in Florida, Tennessee and New York. After retiring in 2005, he moved from Baldwinsville, N.Y., to Whitney, Texas.

He enjoyed air shows, art museums and aeronautics, as well as traveling and attending gun shows. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Richard was a former member of the Zelienople Fire Department and the National Rifle Association. He was an active member of the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney.

Preceding him in death were his parents and his daughter, Laura Jean Fulford.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Drescher; his children, Sten Michael Drescher of Austin, Texas, Cynthia Marie Drescher of Allentown, Pa., Jennifer Nichole Riedy of Allentown, Pa.; Deborah Lee Sinclair of Sunrise, Fla., and Donald Ray Cade of Johnstown, Pa.; his grandchildren, Brian Robert Cade, Nathan Russell Cade, Thomas Lee Fulford, Lindsay Ann Fulford, Nicole Lynn Fulford, Matthew David Sinclair, Jessica Riedy, Katie Riedy, Sean Riedy, Joshua Riedy, Jason Riedy and Sophia Riedy; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-grandson on the way.

Also surviving are his brother, John G. Drescher and his wife, Joyce, of Chicora; and his sisters, Cathy L. Powell and her husband, Richard, of Harmony, Judy A. Lipcsak and her husband, George, of Ellwood City and Elizabeth L. Drescher of San Jose, Calif.

DRESCHER — The family of Richard Louis Drescher, who died Aug. 27, 2015, will conduct a memorial service at 11 a.m., Thursday at the Open Range Cowboy Church in Whitney, with the Rev.
