The
Lorraine Chapter Order of DeMolay of Butler received honors at the Pennsylvania State DeMolay Convention held recently in Tannersville. The Order of DeMolay is a Masonic-sponsored youth leadership organization for young men between the ages of 12 and 21.The Lorraine Chapter, based out of the Butler Masonic Temple, received the following first place awards at the statewide competition among the other 23 chapters:• First place for making the most visitations to other chapters• First place in the Leadership Correspondence Course competition• First place in the Publications competition for their monthly newsletter• First place in the Obligatory Day competitionThe Lorraine Chapter was also named Outstanding Chapter for 2008, and the chapter placed in several other categories.
Curt Rauschenberger of Butler was honored with the HOGEDOS Award. The HOGEDOS Award is given to a select few by the Pennsylvania Masonic Youth Foundation and is given to those adults who have gone above and beyond the call as an adviser to the young men of the Order. Rauschenberger lives in Butler with his wife, Joyce, and their three children.The following Butler County residents were elected as state officers at the convention.•

Second: <B>Bill Stewart and Richard Horlacher</B>.Winner of the 2008 Photogenic Baby Contest Little Miss Smile division, held at the Kean Theatre in Gibsonia, was <B>Aliyah Young</B>, 2, daughter of Terry and Amy Young of Butler.<B>Bonnie Raudebaugh </B>of Slippery Rock recently earned an award for logging 750 hours in the American Quarter Horse Association Horseback Riding Program.The program recognizes and rewards AQHA members for time spent with their American Quarter Horse in activities such as trail rides, working cattle, pleasure driving and riding.
