Patrick Hayden

Patrick Boyd Hayden, 84, of Butler passed away Wednesday at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born April 26, 1929, in Butler, the son of the late Thomas M. and Media (Harvey) Hayden.

Pat was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

His passion in life was golfing. He was in many leagues in the area and had won the Club Championship at Armco Country Club. He also enjoyed woodworking and was always a big help to his friends and family.

Pat graduated from West Sunbury High School and got his associate's degree from Butler County Community College.

He retired from Armco and also sold real estate. He was a member of Camp Setmore and a life member of the Elks in Butler.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary A. Hayden of Jeannette and Beth Hayden of Butler; three sons, Patrick “Boyd” Hayden Jr. of Butler, Kevin M. (Donna) Hayden of East Butler and David J. (Helen) Hayden of West Sunbury; two stepdaughters, Debbie Smith and Butch Hutchison of Butler and Cindy (Bill) Walters of Butler; stepson, David Schenck of Maryland; two grandsons, Craig Hayden and Justin Morter; five step-grandchildren, Erann (Eric) Heltzell, Jason (Lyndsey) Smith, Katrina, Michael and Thomas Walters; three great-step-grandchildren, Matthew and Mason Heltzell and Kinsley Smith; a sister, Doris Walch of Sarasota, Fla.; and a brother, Joseph Hayden of Sharon, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Lesko Schenck Hayden, who he married March 17, 1989, and who died May 25, 2012; two sisters, Joyce Graham and Judy Morrow; and a brother, Thomas M. Hayden III.

HAYDEN — Friends of Patrick Boyd Hayden, who passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W.
