Mary Ann Freimuth
Mary Ann Freimuth, 91, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, died peacefully under hospice care at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023.
Born on June 20, 1931, in Chicago, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Helen Tiemeyer.
She was the beloved wife of the late James “Jim” Freimuth Sr.; the loving mother of Kathleen (Arthur) King, James Freimuth Jr., Andrew Freimuth, Patrick (Kim) Freimuth, Anne (Scott) Miller, Beth (Bill) Wynn, Maureen (Michael) Pass and Paul (Jen) Freimuth; and the cherished grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Mary loved to garden each year, and grew vegetables and flowers, and was an original organic gardener long before it became popular. She was a wonderful cook and always had an extra seat at her table for family, friends and anyone in need.
Mary thrived on faith, family and friendships, and up until her last day she was surrounded by her beloved family.
She and her husband, Jim owned Freimuth’s Country Gourmet in Middlesex. She volunteered as a librarian for Holy Sepulcher School and was a longtime volunteer with South Butler County Community Meals on Wheels and St. Vincent de Paul in Butler County. Throughout her life, she was always engaged with her community wherever she lived.
