CENTER TWP — More than 100 designer purses were raffled off at Clearview Mall Saturday at the third annual Purses for a Purpose event sponsored by the United Way of Butler County.

More than 600 attended the event, which raised about $23,000 for the United Way’s Future Watch club at Butler High School and for United Way’s educational initiatives.

Future Watch is a career mentoring club led by the women’s leadership group Women United. Mentors meet monthly with students discussing topics such as budgeting, careers, time management and confidence.
