Scoop staying on a roll

How do you like me now?

Another week of dominance for the Scoopster.

For the third straight week I only missed on one game and have improved my overall record to a sparkling 52-16.

In the last three weeks, I am 32-3.

Dare I say I am the best newspaper mascot who predicts the outcomes of high school football games in a weekly column in the country?

Nay, the world?

I do dare say.

Let’s see if I can keep the train a-chugging with only 10 games on the docket this week:

Hempfield 30, Butler 13 — This hasn’t been the best season for the Golden Tornado.

And now Hempfield comes to town as a much-improved team. That spells another tough week for Butler.

Seneca Valley 32, North Hills 12 — The Raiders bounced back well from their loss to Central Catholic with a dominating performance over Shaler.

They’ll turn in another resounding victory this week.

Mars 25, Knoch 8 — Oh, boy! Mr. Scoop is excited about this game.

Last year, the Knights stunned the Planets. This year, though, Mars is on a different, er, planet.

Knoch will keep this one close, but the Planets have just too much firepower.

Freeport 15, East Allegheny 10 — The Yellowjackets gutted out a big win last week and a victory here suddenly puts them squarely in the playoff race.

Freeport’s defense has been solid all year and its offense is generating just enough points now to begin winning.

Karns City 36, Punxsutawney 20 — Will the Gremlins actually play a non-mercy-rule game this season? This may be the first, but Karns City should still win this one going away.

St. Marys 30, Moniteau 18 — The Warriors are starting to figure things out. Now if they can only figure out a way to hold a lead in the fourth quarter.

Union 32, Clarion-Limestone 27 — This game is the season for the Golden Knights. Lose this one, and they most likely will not make the playoffs.

A-C Valley 28, Keystone 23 — The Falcons have been close to getting a couple of wins this season. They finally get over the hump.

Slippery Rock 38, Grove City 22 — The Rockets have scored 14 touchdowns that have covered 50 or more yards. That’s more TDs than Butler and Freeport have scored from anywhere this season.

Yeah, I’ll go there: The Rockets’ offense is explosive.

Valley 34, Summit Academy 23 — The Knights are up and down more than the stock market.

This is a winnable game for the Knights, but my gullet is saying to pick Valley.

Scoop is going to go undefeated this week. You just watch.
