Genevieve “Jean” W. Ripper
Genevieve “Jean” W. Ripper, 92, of Zelienople passed away Thursday.
Born May 24, 1924, in Evans City, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mary Hicks Young.
Jean worked at Edelman’s Shoe Store in Ellwood City. She formerly attended the Marion Hill Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in New Brighton and the chapel at New Haven Court at Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople. She loved crafting. Jean will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her beloved husband, Donald V. Ripper, who she married Dec. 16, 1943; her children, Cheryl (Austin) Stroup of Montana and Gary W. Ripper of Dallas, Texas; and her grandchild, Dylan Stroup of Montana.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her sisters, Helen Verner, Thelma McCabe and Janet Peters; and her brother, Henry Young.
RIPPER — A private visitation and a funeral service for Genevieve “Jean” W. Ripper, who died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, were conducted by her family. She was laid to rest at St. Peters Reformed Church Cemetery.
A memorial service for Jean will be conducted later at the New Haven Court Chapel at Passavant Retirement Community.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.
