Light show opens Friday[/naviga:h3] FRANKLIN TWP — Starting Friday, the gates at the Big Butler Fairgrounds will open for Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland, a light show that combines technology, lights and music with custom built and animated elements. The 3-mile long light show will continue through Jan. 3. The show will be open from dusk to 10 p.m. daily, including holidays, rain or shine, according to the company’s website, and maybe later on weekends. An admission fee is charged. [naviga:h3]Winter Flower Show planned[/naviga:h3] PITTSBURGH — Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens will open its Winter Flower Show and Light Garden on Nov. 27. The Winter Light Garden is expanding with new light features in the Outdoor Garden and in the west wing. The outdoor areas open at 5 p.m. The conservatory will remain open until 11 p.m. for Candlelight Evenings throughout the show, except on Dec. 24 when the conservatory will close at 5 p.m. and will remain closed until Dec. 26. The show and garden will continue through Jan. 10. Regular hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 10 p.m. Fridays.
