Bishop David Zubik will celebrate a Mass for Pope Benedict XVI at 7 p.m. Thursday in St. Paul Cathedral in Pittsburgh.

The Mass will be celebrated on the same day as the funeral Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome for the deceased Pope Emeritus.

The Mass at St. Paul Cathedral is open to the public, and representatives from Pittsburgh’s religious community have been invited, according to a news release from the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh. Attendees are requested to be seated by 6:30 p.m.

The Mass will be cablecast to Comcast subscribers within the City of Pittsburgh on Channel 95, and on www.ChristianAssociatesTV.org.

The Pittsburgh diocese will video stream the Mass live on the diocesan YouTube channel.
