James V. Miller Jr.
James V. Miller Jr., 89, of Butler passed away April 28 at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Dec. 12, 1926, in Butler, Jim was the son of the late James V. Miller Sr. and Cecile Elizabeth Kottraba.
Jim and his wife managed the family business, Butler Vulcanizing Co., which his grandfather founded. He retired in 1979 after 30 years.
Jim was a devoted member of the Community Alliance Church for more than 61 years. He was very active in his church, where he taught Sunday school and served as an elder. He was also a member of the Christian Businessman's Committee.
Jim proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the U.S. Air Force.
He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 62 years, Leah Fredley Miller, who he married June 10, 1953; two sons, John Charles Miller and his wife, Raylene, and Paul Vincent Miller, both of Butler; five grandchildren, Mark Miller, Christy Miller, Mandi Miller, Hannah Miller and Bethany Miller; two great-grandchildren, Logan James Miller and Kendall Miller; one sister, Nancy Crispen of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lang.

Miller Jr., who died Thursday, April 28, 2016, there will be no public visitation.Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, with the Rev.
