Police reports

The following items have been collected from various police departments and district courts.

State Police, Butler

Jan. 1 — Sylvia M. Verzinskie, 61, of Emlenton was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with an injury after she lost control of a car she was driving on Route 268 in Fairview Township. Around 3:11 p.m., the vehicle spun around backward, hit a mailbox, traveled through a yard, went airborne, landed in another yard, spun around again and came to a stop in a third yard. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department and East Butler Ambulance assisted police at the scene.

Jan. 1 — Tabitha Beam, 51, of West Sunbury was charged with driving under the influence and resisting arrest following a traffic stop just after 7 p.m. on Hill Lane in Clay Township. After initiating a traffic stop, police said she continued driving until she reached her driveway, refused to comply with orders given by police and resisted arrest.

Dec. 28 — Michelle F. Carrier, 45, of Butler was charged with terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and trespassing after police said she entered a home on Sutton Lane in Clay Township after she had been evicted, resisted arrest, and threatened to set the home on fire.

Dec. 28 — Ronald J. Wiles, 56, of West Sunbury was charged with damaging a survey monument and trespassing after police said he removed property boundary stakes placed in the ground by a surveyor on Calico Road in Washington Township and removed a neighbor’s no trespassing sign.

Dec. 27 — Amber L. Hedegore, 27, of Grove City in Mercer County was flown to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh with multiple head injuries. Police believe she fell asleep while driving west on Boyers Road in Marion Township and her car hit an embankment. The car then flipped end over end three times, struck a fence and landed on its roof about 150 feet from the initial point of impact. The Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company mechanically extracted her from the car, and she was taken to Grove City Hospital before being flown to AGH.

Dec. 26 — A sport utility vehicle driven by Kathleen Tyner, 37, of Fayetteville, W.Va., on I-79 in Muddy Creek Township lost traction, rotated counter clockwise, hit an embankment and rolled four times before coming to a stop about 100 feet from the initial point of impact. She was not injured.

Dec. 14 — A tamper was reported stolen from the parking lot at Ritenour Custom Lawn Care on Corks Lane in Connoquenessing Township.

Dec. 14 — Thomas L. Statts, 32, of Farrell in Mercer County was charged with a misdemeanor. Police said a Center Township resident paid him a $100 down payment to do work on his property, but he didn’t complete the work or return the payment.

Butler Township Police

Dec. 31 — Keira Sporny, 18, of Butler was charged with simple assault and harassment. Police said she struck a 37-year-old woman in the head with a glass candy dish, causing a head injury, at 5:28 a.m. in the 100 block of West Patterson Avenue.

Dec. 30 — A vehicle driven by Eric B. Miner, 52, of Connoquenessing struck an embankment along Schaffner Road, a telephone pole guide wire, a parked vehicle and a home at 146 Butler Road. No one was injured, but both vehicles were severely damaged and towed from the scene. The Butler Township Volunteer Fire District assisted at the scene.

Nov. 30 — Tori Zaborowski, 30, of Butler was charged with retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said she failed to pay for $156 in merchandise at Walmart.
