Patricia Feliskey North, 71, of Slippery Rock, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, at Quality Life Services in Grove City.

She was born in Punxsutawney on Jan. 12, 1951, to Joseph C. Feliskey and Julia Marie Schrock Feliskey.

Pat graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1968 and Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1972, and later received her master’s degree in special education from Slippery Rock University.

She married James North on April 10, 1975.

Pat retired as an elementary school teacher from the Slippery Rock Area Elementary School.

In addition to her love of teaching, she enjoyed shopping, flower gardening, baking, walking, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was a longtime member and volunteer of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church (St. Faustina Parish) in Slippery Rock, serving on various committees, including parish counsel.

Survivors include her husband, James, at home; her son, Matthew J. North of Harmony and his partner, Stephanie Siegel; a daughter, Tricia M. (James) Eckhardt of Newtown, Pa.; two sisters, Helen Kyser-Stephens of Allegany, N.Y., and Julie (Don) McCully of La Habra, Calif.; and three grandchildren, Elizabeth, Isaac and Logan.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

NORTH — A Mass of Christian burial for Patricia Feliskey North, who died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2023, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock, with Father Adam Verona of the church presiding. Ashes will be interred at Zion Church Cemetery in North Summit, Jefferson County, Pa.

Arrangements were handled by SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Faustina Parish, 342 Normal Ave., Slippery Rock; or to the Slippery Rock Volunteer Fire Company and Rescue Team, 162 Elm St., Slippery Rock.
