Coming together can be a collective resolution

Over the weekend, we published a series of photos taken over the course of 2022 in our community section, reviewing how situations near and far have affected us as a whole.

Like most years, we’ve faced our share of tribulations. A waning pandemic faded into the background of problems in our own backyards, with news of families residing in Butler County who were displaced by the war in Ukraine reminding us that we were still more fortunate than most.

However, amid all the strife, we were able to unseal ourselves — mostly — from isolation. The photos also featured children enjoying balmy summer evenings and dazzling sunsets above Friday night football games.

Even when tragedy did inevitably strike, we came together to help one another through. We ended by hoping that “perhaps that same spirit of coming together — in good times and bad — can continue into 2023.”

Now that we actually have the ability to come together again, and had our year of testing those waters, let’s take full advantage in relearning how to be a community this year.

The world is different. We don’t go through what we have completely unchanged. Everything, even down to the format of the ways some of us work and make a living, has been eternally altered.

Now that we’ve proven just how versatile we are, let’s use it to our advantage.

We at the Eagle wish everyone a happy new year, and hope 2023 brings with it a fresh wave of blessings for all.
