Joseph Samuel Pasqualini

Joseph Samuel Pasqualini, 28, of Sterling, Va., passed away peacefully Sunday surrounded by his loved ones at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, from complications of a traumatic brain injury.

Born March 2, 1988, Joseph is the son of James R. Pasqualini of Pittsburgh and Kelley A. Kovacs Pasqualini of Erie; the brother of James J. (Miranda) Pasqualini, Jenny M. Pasqualini, Edward S. Pasqualini and Alex J. Pasqualini, all of Sterling, Va.; the uncle of Caleb Pruett, Nadia Pruett, Jonah “Little Jo” Pasqualini, Holden Rodemoyer, Kayleigh Pasqualini, Breanna Pasqualini, Jessa Pasqualini, Pacey Behanna-Grove, Adalynn Behanna-Grove and Kylie Dawson; and he was also a beloved nephew, cousin and friend.

Joey was preceded in death by all four of his grandparents and all his great-grandparents, who were waiting for him at the gates of Heaven.

Joey fought a daily battle of recovery for nearly eight years after being hit by a drunken driver while walking Jan. 18, 2009, and sustaining life-threatening brain and spinal cord injuries. He was a warrior and his strength was an inspiration to all.

Joe graduated from the American International School in his favorite city of Vienna, Austria. Joe loved the Steelers, the Penguins and the Pirates. He also loved spending quality time with his family and friends.

PASQUALINI — Visitation for Joseph Samuel Pasqualini, who died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from noon to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the JEFFERSON MEMORIAL HOME, 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh.

A funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Graveside burial, weather permitting, will follow the burial service.

A celebration of Joe’s life will be conducted at 4 p.m., after the conclusion of the burial, at the Broughton Volunteer Fire Hall, 1030 Cochrans Mill Road, Pittsburgh.
