Cleora Black

Cleora “Cleo” Eleanor Black, 90, of Cabot, formerly of Butler, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Good Samaritan Hospice at Cabot on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022.

Born in Butler on Jan. 10, 1932, she was a daughter of the late John L. and Cora Bowers Bacher. She was the youngest of six children and the last surviving member of the family.

Cleo married Donald W. Black on Nov. 23, 1951. Together they had one son, Donald “Rick” Black, and one daughter, Sherrie Black.

Cleo was a member of North Butler Presbyterian Church.

She and her husband, Don, owned and operated the Esso/Exxon Station in Bon Aire for 47 years.

Since March 2020, Cleo and Don resided at Concordia Personal Care in Cabot.

In addition to her husband, son and daughter, Cleo is survived by five grandchildren and their spouses; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

BLACK — Friends of Cleora “Cleo” Eleanor Black, who died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Pastor Chance Kelosky officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.
