Lauretta C. Christie
Lauretta C. Christie, 91, of Butler passed away Wednesday at her home.
Born April 29, 1924, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Desidarius and Anna (Waltman) Geibel.
She was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler. She was a graduate of Butler High School. She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Century Club, her bridge club and Fenelton Craft Club. She loved to shop, bake and travel. She enjoyed spending time with her family at Camp Bonniebrook and celebrating holidays with family and friends.
Surviving are her children, Ralph (Susan) Christie Jr of Highlands, Colo., Denise A (Ralph) Geibel, Diane L. Christie, Darlene A. Robert Hodgkiss, all of Butler, and Dawna L. (Anthony) Lyngarkos of Northeast, Pa.; 10 grandchildren, Christie (Jesse) Rudolph, Sean (Tasha) Geibel, Holly (Joseph) Callihan, Jennifer (Victor) Metzler, Patrick (Lisa) McCloskey, Richelle (Adam) McLean, Leah (Frank) Hartle, Bobbie Ann Hodgkiss, Tyler Lyngarkos and Chelsea Lyngarkos; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Christie Sr., who passed away Aug. 24, 2015; her sisters, Marcella Schnur, Leona Farnen, Hazel Geibel and Delores (Honey) Geibel; and her brothers, Glenn, Victor and Russell Geibel.
CHRISTIE — Friends of Lauretta C. Christie, who died Wednesday, April 13, 2016, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St. Butler.
