Chester H. Warburton, 82, of Butler, passed away Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 1, 1940, in Wilkinsburg, and was the son of the late Harry and Elsie (Mahood) Markham.

Chester was a graduate of Moniteau High School.

He had served in the National Guard for 10 years.

Chester had been employed at Pullman Standard as a welder from 1963 until its closing. He retired from the Armstrong Group of Companies in 2005.

He was a member of Chicora Argyle Lodge 540, Ambassador and aide emeritus for Syria Shrine, Syria Motor Corps (Mini-T’s), Scottish Rite Consistory, past commander Lorraine Commandry 87, past high priest of Royal Arch 273, past illustrious master of Butler Council 61, past president of Butler Caravan 14, past president of Butler Luncheon Club and a DeMolay adviser of Lorraine Chapter. Chester was also on the board of directors for Pullman Standard Credit Union.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was a former member of Concord Presbyterian Church in Hooker.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Jacqueline (Pore) Warburton of Butler; his sons, Todd (Sharon) Warburton and Eric (Dawn) Warburton, all of Butler; his sister, Eva Joy (Ray Cooper) Irons of Alabama; his sisters-in-law, Shirley Warburton and Judith (Dan) Ealy, all of Butler; his grandchildren, Derek (Lauran) Warburton, Ashley Darrell, Josh Warburton and Leah (Kenny) Dunmyre; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James Warburton; and a grandson, Casey Warburton.

WARBURTON — Friends of Chester H. Warburton, who died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2022, will be received from 5 p.m. until the time of the Masonic services at 7 p.m. Wednesday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Private burial will be held at Concord Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, c/o Syria Shriners, 1877 Shriners Way, Cheswick, PA 15024.
