Michael A. “Puncho” Staryat Jr.
Michael A. “Puncho” Staryat Jr., 70, of Butler passed away on Wednesday in the comfort of his home.
Born June 2, 1947, in Butler, he was the son of the late Michael Staryat and Rose Mary (Pollifrone) Staryat.
Mike was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church.
He worked as a welder at Pullman Standard from 1965 until 1981. He then went on to weld for U.S. Tool and Dye and retired from Local Laborers Union 1058.
Mike proudly served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of the Lyndora American Legion Post 778. He also was the former president of the Judge and Jury Biker Club.
Mike was an avid motorcycle and classic car enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting and camping in Mercer. He also loved spending time with family and friends.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter, Kristin L. Staggers and her husband, Mike, of Butler; his only grandson, David Michael Staggers; his sister, Mrs. William (Norma Jean) Christ of Atlanta, Ga.; his brother, James Allen Staryat of Florida; his former wife, Rena M. Staryat; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his infant brother, Richard Edward Staryat.
STARYAT — The family of Michael A. “Puncho” Staryat Jr., who died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the celebration of life service at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his honor to the Lyndora American Legion Post 778, 150 Legion Memorial Lane, Butler, PA 16001.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
