William H. McClaine

William H. McClaine

William H. McClaine, 79, of Sugarcreek Township, Armstrong County, died Monday at the VNA Hospice in Butler after a long and courageous battle with ALS.

Born Dec. 9. 1935, he was the son of Frank J. and Ada M. (Schotz) McClaine.

A U.S. Army Veteran, Bill served with the 69th Armored Division from Fort Benning, Ga. Bill served in Korea from 1959 to 1961. He received a Sharpshooter Medal, a Marksman Medal and a Good Conduct Medal.

A 1953 graduate of East Brady High School, Bill married the former Erma L. Cohlhepp on May 4, 1963. She preceded him in death.

Bill was employed for 30 years with Penreco in Karns City.

He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Bradys Bend, and he enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Bill is survived by one son, Kenneth W. McClaine and his wife, Lisa, of Baldwin; one daughter, Lori A. Koleck and her husband, David, of Manorville, Pa.; five grandchildren, Kayla, Kevin and Lucy McClaine and Nicole and Michael Koleck; two brothers, James McClaine of East Brady and Rodney McClaine of Petrolia; two sisters, Jean Weibel of Queenstown and Kathleen Healy of Seneca; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Erma, who died March 3, 2012; four brothers, Frank McClaine Jr., Charles McClaine, George McClaine and Ronald McClaine; and one sister, Ruth Libecco.

MCCLAINE — Friends of William H. McClaine, who died Monday, May 18, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Buechele Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 707 Kellys Way, East Brady.A Parish Prayer Service will be at 3:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Bradys Bend with the Rev. John Butler officiating. Committal, military honors and burial will follow in the St. Eusebius Cemetery.The McClaines ask that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Bill's name to the Paralyzed Veterans of America 1113 Main St., Pittsburgh, PA 15215.
