Marlene Iannotti Folk, 75, of Butler, passed away Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at Butler Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Born in Butler on Sept. 9, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Merle “Buzzi” Iannotti and Rose “Dolly” Fratto-Iannotti.

To know Marlene was to love her; her love lit up a room and was undeniable to everyone who knew her. She was everyone’s Mom, Nana or Aunt Mar — you’d never leave the house hungry or without a smile, a hug and a kiss on the cheek. Her grandchildren were her absolute world, as well as everyone she “adopted” along the way.

Marlene was always a fighter. She fiercely battled stage four lung cancer for the past seven years.

Marlene worked for many years as a secretary with the law firm of Schenck & Long. She was also a member of American Legion Post 778.

She loved her summers at camp, traveling and anything to do with the beach, but most of all, she loved being surrounded by family and friends. The world will be a little less bright without her, but we find comfort knowing she’s with her soul mate again.

She is survived by four children, Joseph Daniel Kinnik Jr. and his wife, Melissa, of Mars, Gregory Lee Folk and his wife, Gina, of Chicora, Brett Edward Folk and his wife, Susan, of Butler, and Myrle “Mimi” Dusheck and her husband, Jeremy, of Butler; 10 grandchildren, Taylor, Dylan, Alexis, Zach, Hannah, Taite, Payton, Madi, Trey and Talbot; and two great-grandchildren, Ayla and Paisley.

She is also survived by three sisters, Eileen Grenci and her husband, Vince, of Eau Claire, Elaine Gram of Kittanning, and Carla Plaisted of Conneaut Lake, Pa.; one brother, John Iannotti and his wife, Stephanie, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Marlene was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Ralph Edward Folk, who passed away Sept. 27, 2022.

FOLK — Friends of Marlene Iannotti Folk, who died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, will be received from noon until 2 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

A service will follow at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with family friend, Bill Parise officiating.

Private burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.
