Summer Jam
The Centre City Summer Jam starts Friday for its second year of promoting downtown Butler.
Events will be held on the third Friday in June, July and August, from 6 to 10:30 p.m., at the corner of East Cunningham and South Main streets.
Each event will include a variety of entertainment, said Bryan Elliot, a 21-year-old intern with Butler Downtown who is overseeing the events.
“There are going to be at least two bands at every event, a beer tent, and food,” Elliot said.
He also said that each event will have unique forms of entertainment like a Chinese auction and a hula-hoop group.
This Friday’s event will feature the bands Mr. Furley and Street Level, and food will be provided by the Chop Shop, When Pigs Fly, Serventi’s Restaurant, and the Monroe Hotel.
“This event is meant to promote downtown Butler, and show people everything it has to offer,” Elliot said.
The other events are scheduled for July 15, which will feature The Way Back Home Band and Moonshine, and Aug. 19, which features Moondrag and Full Circle.
Sponsors of the event include the Butler Eagle.
