Bruce L. Fry Sr.
Bruce L. Fry Sr., 68, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
Born Nov. 14, 1946, in Butler, he was a son of the late Charles Ralph Fry and Catherine Mae McQuistion Fry.
He was a professor at Butler County Community College for 30 years, having taught mathematics and accounting.
Bruce was a member of the South Butler Volunteer Fire Department, where he formerly served as treasurer. He was a former member of the Meridian Volunteer Fire Department.
A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the U.S. Army.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie Homison Fry. The couple married on June 14, 1985.
He also is survived by five sons, Bruce L. Fry Jr. and his fiancee, Nicole Ernfield, of Butler, Thaddeus B. Fry Sr. and his wife, Leigh, of Butler, Travis X. Fry of Butler, Cordell M. Fry of Butler and Emmett C. Fry of Butler; two daughters, Lillian C. Fry of Butler and Candice I. Fry of Butler; one brother, Thomas Fry and his wife, Patricia, of Butler; and two sisters, Sandra K. Chiancone of Cleveland, Ohio, and Patricia Carben and her husband, Joseph, of Butler.
In addition, he is survived by three grandchildren, Thaddeus Fry Jr., Payton Fry and Austin Fry; one sister-in-law, Cindy Fry of Albuquerque, N.M.; one brother-in-law, Robert DeSantis of Texas; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Charles Fry; one sister, Barbara DeSantis; and one brother-in-law, Chuck Chiancone.

Fry Sr., who died Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler.
