ORLANDO, Fla. - Trying to become the first player on any tour to win the same tournament five straight times, Tiger Woods got off to a solid start in the Bay Hill Invitational Thursday by missing only one fairway in a round of 5-under 67 that left him one shot out of the lead.

Chad Campbell and Darren Clarke each navigated Bay Hill without a bogey in their rounds of 66, while Shigeki Maruyama joined them late in the afternoon when the greens became slightly firmer.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Michelle Kwan was voted the 2003 USOC Sportswoman of the Year Thursday after winning her fifth world championship and seventh national crown last year.Kwan, who goes for another World Figure Skating Championships gold medal next week, took the honor for the first time. She has been awarded the USOC Sportswoman of the Month honor 14 times, most recently in January 2004 when she won her eighth U.S. title.The most decorated figure skater in U.S. history, Kwan would set a record for an American woman if she wins worlds at Dortmund, Germany. But instead of allowing Chavez to leave as MVPs Jason Giambi and Miguel Tejada did, Oakland spent the cash necessary to retain some of its impressive array of young talent.The deal includes a $12.5 million club option for 2011 with a $3 million buyout. Chavez will make $5.2 million this year.FOOTBALLIRVING, Texas (AP) - The Dallas Cowboys finally acquired Keyshawn Johnson, reaching agreement on a deal that will send Joey Galloway to Tampa Bay.On the same day the NFL told the team it would approve their eight-year contract with quarterback Drew Henson, owner Jerry Jones said Dallas has a handshake deal to send receiver Galloway to Tampa Bay for Johnson.Jones said the Cowboys had agreed on a handshake deal with Tampa that involves Dallas reworking Galloway's contract.Johnson agreed weeks ago to a four-year, $20 million contract with a $4 million bonus.As for Henson, the league approved the contract, but has not officially announced it within the NFL. It did inform the Cowboys, however, that it had been approved.TENNISINDIAN WELLS, Calif. Karns City graduate Carrie Bullman and Knoch graduate Jessica Crouch, both seniors on the Clarion University women's track team, placed in the javelin in the Coastal Carolina University Invitational Saturday in South Carolina.Bullman placed third with a toss of 133 feet, 8 inches. Crouch was seventh with a toss of 127-1.

Grove City College senior forward Tanner Prosser earned third team All-Great Lakes Region honors from d3hoops.com.Prosser averaged 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds per game this season and finished his career as the school's fifth all-time leading scorer with 1,263 points. His 367 assists are most in school history and his 801 rebounds are the most of any Grove City player since 1970.The Wolverines were 14-13 this season.
