Steve Pawk

Steve Pawk, 94, of Butler passed away Wednesday at UPMC Horizon in Farrell.

He was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Butler, the son of the late Harry Pawk and the late Pearl (Petroski) Pawk.

Steve attended Butler schools. He was self-employed prior to retirement and was the former proprietor of Lyndora Lanes.

He loved all sports, especially golf, where he had scored two holes in one.

His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.

Steve was a very generous man and would help anyone in need. He also was very proud to have maintained his independence, having lived on his own until a few months ago.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cynthia Kennedy and her husband, Richard, of Butler and Mrs. Brenda Oman and her husband, Gregory, of Hermitage; a granddaughter, Jennifer Reed and her husband; three grandsons, Jason and Patrick Oman and Bryan Kennedy; and three great-grandchildren, Gavin, Avery, and Claire.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alma (Crouch) Pawk, who died Aug. 22, 2006; two sisters, Ann Cullin and Marion Kosterka; and three brothers, Peter Pawk, John "Jay" Pawk and Michael "Ike" Pawk.

<B>PAWK</B> — Friends of Steve Pawk, who died Wednesday, March 4, 2009, will be received from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Young Funeral Home Ltd.</B>, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. David Hupp, of Buffalo United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
