Cook

David E. Cook, 76, of Grove City, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday at Orc-hard Manor in Grove City after a one-year illness.

Born in Jackson Center, Mercer County, July 24, 1931, he was the son of George P. and Freda M. King Cook.

He was a 1950 graduate of Grove City High School, a 1958 alumnus of Grove City College, and he served with the Army in the Korean War.

Mr. Cook was co-owner of Langley's Smart Apparel in Grove City from 1976 to 2000. He was a business consultant for three clothing stores and a consultant for the Slovak Folk Crafts, Grove City, for three years after his retirement. He previously was a manager of the J.C. Penney store in Van Wert, Ohio, and was the assistant manager at the Penney's store in Butler. He also worked at the former Penney's in New Castle and Butler.

He was a member of the Tower Presbyterian Church, Grove City, where he was a former trustee and elder. He was a former member of the Grove City Chamber of Commerce and the Downtown Grove City Merchants Association.

Surviving are his wife, Gladys May Cooper Cook, whom he married Aug. 14, 1953; three children, Kenenth E. Cook and his wife, Sandra, of Butler, Kevin A. Cook and his wife, Margo, of Erie and Karen L. Graham and her husband, Mitchell, of Wadsworth, Ohio; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, William.

<B>COOK </B>— Friends of David E. Cook, who died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tower Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Culp officiating.
