Robert William “Bob” Rodgers

Robert William “Bob” Rodgers, 78, of Butler passed away Saturday afternoon at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 19, 1937, in Adrian, Pa., he was a son of the late Ernest and Aida Claypoole Rodgers.

He was an instrument repairman at Butler Armco, where he worked for 42 years. He was also a farmer. In addition, he owned and operated Rodgers Family Bakery for seven years.

He was a member of Saint Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.

He belonged to the National Rifle Association and the C.B. Rangers. He was a life member of the Butler City Hunting and Fishing Club.

He is survived by two sons, Wayne E. Rodgers and his wife, Susan, of Butler, and Thomas J. Rodgers of Butler; one daughter, Rhonda J. Gengler and her husband, Jeffrey, of Butler; one daughter-in-law, Debra K. Rodgers of Butler; one brother, Grant Rodgers and his wife, Shirley, of Saxonburg; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene “Chookie” Namesnik Rodgers, who passed away Nov. 29, 2000; one son, Richard Anthony Rodgers, who passed away Nov. 26, 2010; three brothers; and three sisters.

RODGERS — Friends of Robert William “Bob” Rodgers, who died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman.
