Girl, 13, alleges abuse
MUDDY CREEK TWP — A township man is accused of molesting a 13-year-old girl at a Butler County home late last year.
State police on Thursday arrested Christopher George Nye, 37, on 11 criminal counts, including three felonies. He was arraigned on the charges and is free on $50,000 unsecured bail.
The alleged victim during a Feb. 11 interview at the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency recounted being molested by the defendant.
The girl told a CYS caseworker that she wanted to tell her mother when the suspected abuse began but she was “very scared,” according to court documents.
One to two weeks after the first incident, Nye allegedly assaulted her again. The girl subsequently told her mother, police said.
The accuser told investigators that the defendant apologized for his actions and claimed he “was going to seek counseling,” documents said
Nye is charged with child endangerment and two counts of corruption of minors, all felonies,
He also is charged with two counts each of indecent exposure, indecent assault without consent, indecent assault by forcible compulsion and indecent assault of someone less than 16 years of age.
A preliminary hearing was not immediately scheduled.
Nye’s attorney, Joseph Charlton of Sarver, could not be reached for comment this morning.
