John F. Siekaniec

John F. Siekaniec, 93, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VA Butler Healthcare in Butler.

He was born May 30, 1918, in Sharpsburg, the son of the late John Francis Siekaniec Sr. and the late Magdelena Siekaniec.

John was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Sharpsburg High School and also of Duff's Iron City College. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II. He enjoyed woodworking and collecting digital trains.

Surviving are his wife, Cora Lavada Siekaniec, who he married in 1996; two stepdaughters, Karen Mahood of St. Louis, Mo., and Jamie (George) Johnson of Butler; a stepson, Stephen (Christina) Pink of Pittsburgh; eight grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Verardi of Pittsburgh and Trudy Sears of Pittsburgh.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, LaRue Siekaniec; four sisters, and a brother.

<B>SIEKANIEC</B> — A memorial mass for John F. Siekaniec, who passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, will be at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, at 9:30 a.m. Friday.
