Ida Josephine Double

Ida Josephine Double, 92, of Chicora died at 9 p.m. Monday.

Born in Donegal Township, March 21, 1915, she was the daughter of James F. and Mary A. Brownfield Glynn.

She was a member of the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church of Bradys Bend, where she belonged to the Altar Society and was a Eucharistic minister. She also belonged to the AARP and the Chicora Senior Center.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Donna Marie) Callihan of Chicora; four sons, William A. Double of Indiana, Pa., Harold Double of Chicora, Vincent Double of Herman and Edward Double of Chicora; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A sister, Ann Mellish of East Brady, also survives.

Her husband, Thomas E. Double, whom she married Oct. 6, 1942, at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Sugarcreek Township, died March 17, 2003. She also was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a sister.

<B>DOUBLE </B>— Friends of Ida Josephine Double, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>STEIGHNER FUNERAL HOME</B>, 111 E. Slippery Rock St., Chicora. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Bradys Bend, with the Rev. Joseph Bonafed officiating. Burial will be at the St. Patrick Cemetery, Sugarcreek Township.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Whispering Acres Personal Care Home, 882 Thompson Road, Chicora. PA 16025.
