Bruce L. Rankin
Bruce L. Rankin, 54, of Onuffer Road, Emlenton, died Wednesday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh from injuries he sustained in a vehicle accident Saturday.
Bruce was born May 23, 1961, in Oil City. He was the son of Helen V. Griffin Rankin of Kennerdell and the late Paul L. Rankin.
Bruce graduated in 1979 from Franklin High School and Oil City Vo-Tech. Bruce had been employed for many years in the construction industry as a carpenter.
His greatest joy was the company of his grandkids. He also enjoyed horseback riding, hunting, camping and a cold beer with friends.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Pauline M. Rankin; five children, Warren J. Albert and his wife, Patricia, of Oil City, Jason V. Albert of Jonesboro, La., Emily S. Smith and her husband, Shaun, of Louisville, Ohio, Nick R. Albert and his wife, Erin M., of Emlenton and Crystal M. “Curly” Rankin of Blue Springs, Mo.; his brother, Kevin P. Rankin and his wife, Valerie, of Kennerdell; two sisters, Kris Lingenfelter and her husband, Jim, of New Castle and Tammy Slater and her husband, Dave, of Clintonville; 11 grandchildren, Zoe, Mason, Alex, Zachary, Gage, Daniel, Tanner, Wyatt, Virgil, Calvin and Alyssa; five nephews, Steve, Clay, Matt, Mark and Eric; one niece, Nikki; and many good friends.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Abigail Grace; and his niece, Sara.
RANKIN — Friends of Bruce L. Rankin, who died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Hile Funeral Home, 1204 Kerr Ave., Emlenton.A service of remembrance will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
