Stephen Ambrose Historical Tours was founded by the late Stephen Ambrose, a professor of history at the University of New Orleans and biographer of presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower and Richard Nixon.

Ambrose wrote many books about military history, and many of those topics are showcased by the tour company, which continues to operate after his 2002 death.

According to director of sales Mark Bielski, most of the guided tours are offered annually or twice a year with a few exceptions.

Prices range from $4,200 to $6,200, with airfare sometimes included.
